"my opinion of the letter does not matter at this point. Send it. Words from the heart should first be seen by the ones intended for. Be centered and speak from the heart always." were some words I shared with a friend. I think we should always be careful when we seek the opinions of others and the way in which we weigh those words.

"no...it's not being selfless..that's the contrary to being selfish...you want to be in the center!" Understand the range of emotion you can experience seek the calm waters within. When one is calm, centered, one can potentially acheive balance. But I have associates who say one can never acheive balance. And I've learned to never say never ;) Cause the universe will seek to balance such extremes.
